Article A: ?Team Registration
Item 1: Late registrations will be considered only if space is available.
Item 2:  Only students tested on the official team roster and risk acknowledgement form are eligible.
Item 3:  A group can drop and add players up until the beginning of the team?s third contest by
submitting, in writing, the proper information (See Article 3, Item 1).  Telephone requests will be
honored if the players are eligible.
Article B:  Code of Conduct
Item 1:  Under the Code of Conduct, no participant shall be allowed to:
a)     Lay a hand upon, push, strike, or threaten an official or opponent.
b) Verbally abuse an opponent or official
c) Knowingly break the rules
d) Use profane/obscene language at any time during intramural competition.
e) Play intoxicated or under to influence of any substance.
f) Behave in any unsportsman like manor.
g)    Any team using alcohol during competition will be disqualified on the spot.
Item 2:  Failure to adhere to any of the previously listed rules of conduct will result in a suspension
from a contest or league depending on the severity of the incident.  The director of Intramurals will
make the final judgment.
Article C:  Group Eligibility
a) Clark Hall I, Clark Hall III, Clark Hall V, Harwood Court, Lawry Court, Mason Hall,
Mudd-Blaisdell, Oldenborg, Smiley, Walker, Wig, and Pitzer.
b)  Any group or club not listed under Item 1 above can be considered for Intramural recognition by
submitting a written petition to the director of Intramurals.
All students, faculty, and staff associated with the Pomona-Pitzer program are eligible to compete in
the intramural program, provided the following qualifications are met:
1. Each dormitory shall have a student liaison who will work with the Intramural Director.  Those
people living in college houses, cottages, and off-campus may compete with any dormitory; however,
once that decision is made, that affiliation must be maintained throughout the entirety of that
activity.  Depending on the sport taking place, there are three different ways one might participate:
A) Independent Teams,
B) Dorm Teams,
C) Individual Competitions.
2. In regards to Dorm Teams, all participants must be members of the dormitory they represent
(except in the case of off-campus participants), and must be presently enrolled in the colleges.
3. In regards to Independent Teams, the roster can include any eligible participants, so long as the
make-up of the team is in line with the rules governing that particular sport.
4. A. participant is not allowed to compete on more than one dorm team or more than one
independent team in the same sport.  A participant may compete on a dorm team and an independent
team in the same sport.
5. No player shall participate under an assumed name.
6. Varsity athletes may participate, except in the IM sports that they compete at the College Varsity
level.
7. Student teams may include faculty at both the Dorm and Independent level.
*Penalty for violation of any of the above provisions shall be forfeiture of the contest(s) in which the
violation(s) took place.
Article D:  Individual Eligibility
Item 1:  In order for an individual to be considered eligible to participate in the Intramural Sports
program, he/she must:
a)  Be a recognized member of the Pomona or Pitzer Comm8nuty (on or off campus student,
administrator, and faculty, staff, or college employee).
b)  Be listed on the team roster and risk acknowledgement form.
1) Present his/her ID card to the referee when signing in before each contest
Item2:   A participant will be ineligible for participation if he/she
a) Has participated on the intercollegiate team in the same sport during the same academic year.
b) Is not listed on the official Intramural Team Roster submitted prior to the team?s third contest.
For any 5 college intramural activities, the above rules and regulations apply.
