| Intramural Foosball Ladder Tournament Rules |

| 1. Teams must consist of two people to be elgible to play. Teams can have more than two people on them but only two may play at any given time. There are no substitutions during the game. A team that starts a game, must finish the game they started and another combination of players can be made for the second game and thereafter. 2. Teams will be randomly assigned ladder positions at the beginning of the tournament. 3. All games can be played in the game room at the Gould Center on Pitzer's Campus. Equipment can be checked out at the front desk or by the building manager. The center is usaully open from 8am-10pm. Keep in mind that there may be functions barring us from play from tme to time. Other tables include the Pomona Coop Fountain. Teams can play wherever they can find a table and whatever is more convienient for all parties. 4. All necessary contact information as well as ladder standings, will be posted on the website. 5. In order to move up the ladder, you may challenge someone (1) or (2) levels above you. 5. After each game the winning team is responsible for emailing the intramural director the results of the match by the end of the week. 6. Players will play the best 2 of 3, games to 9. If games are tied, teams must win by two. 7. If you beat the team you challenged, you take their spot, and the loser moves down one spot. If a team challenged an individual (2) spots above and wins, the loser will still only move down one spot, consequently pushing the team underneath to a lower level. 8. If you beat the team who challenged you, there is no movement of positions on the ladder. Keep in mind your position can be go down even when not playing a match. 9. You are able to make (2) challenges a week and it is strongly recommended that at least one challenge is made per week. 10. If challenged, you have one week to set up a match. If a week (7days) has gone by and there has been no contact, the challenger must contact the intramural director and that position will be awarded. 11. The player in the number 1 spot cannot make any challenges, they can only respond to challenges. Specific Rules. -if the ball goes into the goal legally, it is a goal no matter who hit it. -no spinning of the rods. -balls can be served through the whole any way but you must touch the ball to a man before scoring. -after a goal is scored, the team that was scored on serves the ball. -balls off the table are given to the team last scored upon. -dead balls are given to the team last scored upon. |
